Sharon George is one of the most experienced bariatric surgery nutritionists in the country. She joined New York Bariatric Group over 19 years ago, and thrives on helping patients with obesity to reach their weight loss goals. Guided by a strong desire for education, Sharon completed 2 bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree with honors. In addition to working with patients, Sharon writes as a nutrition expert. Shara Lazar has spent many years counseling patients with varied health concerns including renal failure, hypertension, and diabetes. Sarah has been a Registered Dietitian since 2015 after completing her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and completing her Dietetic Internship at North Shore University Hospital. Sarah continued her career at NSUH and went on to specialize in Critical Care, Heart Failure, and Heart Transplant Nutrition and is a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC). During this time, she gained a passion for helping to prevent illness through positive diet and lifestyle changes. Sarah is certified in Adult Weight Management by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She joined the NYBG team in 2020.
Meagan Butler graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech and completed her dietetic internship at Montclair State University. She has a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management and is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. Meagan spent several years as the Nutrition Coordinator at a bariatric and medical weight loss private practice and is excited to bring her expertise to New York Bariatric Group.
Dana Huber is a Registered Dietitian with an undergraduate degree in Economics from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University To round out her education and training, she completed a demanding internship at the New York Presbyterian Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Since becoming a Registered Dietitian in 2015, Dana has worked to provide tailored nutritional coaching for her clients ranging from pediatrics to adults in both New York and New Jersey. Before joining NYBG in 2021 Dana most recently worked as a dietitian at Bellevue Hospital in New York City in the Center for Obesity and Weight Management, which began her career in bariatrics.
