What is an Ambulatory Surgery Center?

An ambulatory surgery center, also known as an ASC, is a modern facility that provides a safe, fully-operational space for same-day surgical care. An ambulatory Surgery center hugely improves the patient experience for outpatient procedures.

Our ambulatory surgery center does not require hospital admission and is more cost effective, convenient, and safer than a stay at the hospital, causing far less stress for patients. Our space is private and comfortable and includes everything needed for your surgical procedure, including state-of-the-art technology and equipment.

What to Expect at Our Ambulatory Surgery Center

Our ambulatory surgery center is a free-standing facility with state-of-the-art operating rooms designed for procedures that allow you to recover comfortably at home once the anesthesia has worn off.

The ambulatory is a professional space that is quiet, calm, and comfortably relaxed. You will experience a personalized, higher quality of care in a convenient setting. Once the procedure is complete, you will likely remain in the recovery space for 1-3 hours as the anesthesia wears off and you’re feeling ready to leave.

Before you go home with a friend or family member, we will check to ensure your vitals are stable and you can walk well on your own.

Can my Surgery be done at the Ambulatory Surgery Center?

Most patients can have their bariatric surgery performed at our ambulatory surgery center. However, if you’ve had a bad reaction to anesthesia in the past or are a high risk patient with serious medical issues, it may be best to have your procedure in a hospital. We will assess your risk category ahead of time, during your consultation.

If you are in good enough health generally, it’s likely you’ll be able to have your surgery in our ambulatory surgery center instead of the hospital. The majority of our patients are eligible for this option and prefer to recover at home, and are able to do so safely without complications or issues.
