The value that vitamins have in our lives has been in our race long before the first acknowledgements and studies of nutrition were made. Although sometimes their benefits were confused for miracles or magic tricks, every culture knew of specific food that agreed with their bodies and improved their health.
As organic compounds required as a nutrient by our body, vitamins are essential for the normal growth and development of our organisms. If there is serious lack in one or more of these nutrients, a human may develop a deficiency disease. Even minor deficiencies may cause permanent damage.
Thirteen vitamins are presently universally recognized: A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12, C, D, E and K. You don’t have to look very far or very hard to obtain foodstuffs filled with these vitamins.
Here are some examples:
– A juicy papaya is filled with vitamin A: it stimulates immunity.
– A tasty piece of salmon contains vitamin B1: produces energy.
– Bananas have vitamin B2: important for body growth.
– Chicken is known for having B3 vitamin: to help the functioning of the digestive system, skin, and nerves.
– Avocado contains vitamin B5: metabolism of food.
– Watermelons are rich in vitamin B6: to create antibodies in the immune system.
– Nothing like peanuts to assure the vitamin B9 in your organism: to produce red blood cells.
– A tasty piece of cheese has vitamin B12: for the maintenance of the central nervous system.
– Broccoli is rich on vitamin C: to protect body tissue from the damage of oxidation.
– Mushrooms are tasty, but also have vitamin D: to promote the absorption of calcium and magnesium.
